Overflow (Reaching out)
“I want to spend time with good people but they are always off doing church stuff…”
Like cups that are over full and as they are being carried begin to splash and wet those around them. This is Gods way of revealing himself to the broken and lost. And if this is going to happen we are going to have to discover that God never intended us to live in a separate sub-culture but rather be found alongside our neighbors and work mates. Not like salesmen or people trying to win the enemy over but rather as people who live such beautiful lives that the hurting come seeking us because we are the best friends they have ever had.
It’s the way of Jesus. He didn’t get accused of being a drunkard because he was always with the middle-upper class or the “comfortable” people. Jesus instead dared to dream of lives restored. This dream and desire found him in places and making his life available to people of all races, ages and class.
Who’s in your “10 footy window”? Who is being drawn to the heart of God because you are involved in their life?
“Well Pastor, what are we doing to win the lost?”………….“Don’t tell anyone mate but actually we have a whole bunch of people out in the community living beautiful lives (caring, loving, leading, courageous, etc) and now they all want what they have got.”
